High Street Early Learning Centre

Every day is an opportunity for discovery and growth at High Street Early Learning and Childcare Centre, which is rated exceeding in the National Quality Standard. With a range of exciting, resource-rich environments – including two spacious outdoor yards – children are encouraged to explore and learn.

The light-filled and homely centre also has a water pump, a workshop area, vegetable gardens, a worm farm, two pet bunnies, and two open-plan ateliers.

Children get out and about on weekly excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit a variety of locations, including Victoria Gardens, Prahran Library, Prahran Markets and Lumley playground.

We are proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year. The community-minded team also organise a range of fundraising events for the children to be involved in.

Our on-site chef prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. To further explore food at the centre, our Educators host cooking classes for the children to get involved in to enhance their understanding of good nutrition.

Our Educators

Our team of Educators are committed and passionate about ensuring your child will be safe, nurtured and cared for every day. At Guardian, children are encouraged to engage in interest-led play that creates learning and meaningful experiences.

Our Educators seek to optimise diverse learning opportunities and implement the Curriculum as framed by the Early Years Learning Framework.

You and Your Child

All Guardian Centres provide a Centre-to-Family communication platform so families can maintain contact with their children’s experiences through photos, stories and learning outcomes.

Our Centres use Storypark and each family is provided with a secure login to access on their computers, mobiles or apps.

Learn More About Our Centre

We offer a comforting family home-style environment complete with reggio-inspired learning materials where children feel a sense of belonging, security, confidence and inclusion. Our well-appointed and large outdoor spaces allow children to explore our natural learning environments, tend to our vegetable patch or explore amongst the trees and flowers.

Our educators pride themselves on the relationships they build with our families and our centre’s connection to the community. We invest time and energy into understanding each family’s needs and wants for their child, offering a developmentally-appropriate ‘learn through play’ educational approach that encourages children to explore, discover and create through a variety of experiences.

Each day the children are fed seasonal fruits and vegetables from a menu that promotes healthy eating. We use as many natural and unprocessed foods as possible, incorporating dishes from many different cultures and encouraging the children to try lots of new and exciting flavours.
