It’s Like Family At Guardian Early Learning Centre – Marrickville

17th March 2017

Guardian Early Learning Centre Marrickville

Guardian Early Learning Centre – Marrickville has been part of the local community for five years. We’re proud of our culturally diverse centre and enjoy giving our children the opportunity to explore the rich culture of our community through incursions and excursions.

We have a strong management team where the Centre Manager, Assistant Manager and Educational Leader work collaboratively together to show their passion for Early Childhood Education. The team is actively encouraged to develop new skills and role model best practices and take great pride in creating new and creative learning environments that promote children’s learning.

Centre Manager Nicole says, “We are lucky to have staff still here today that have been here since the centre opened.”

Our long-standing educators have formed close relationships with the families with a few parents saying, “It’s like our family here.”

As part of the strong community focus at our centre, this year we’ll be inviting Aboriginal performers and acts for Harmony Day and NAIDOC Week to promote a respect and understanding of indigenous culture.

What do you like about our school?

As key members of Guardian Early Learning Centre – Marrickville’s family, children were asked “What do you like about our school?” which allowed them to reflect on their environment and own learning. Here’s what a few children said:

  • Matilda (Age 4): “I like playing in the home corner”
  • Jennifer and Alyssa (Age 4): “The home corner is my favourite”
  • Destyn (Age 4): “I like playing with everyone. Everybody is nice”
  • Hariette (Age 4): “I like these toys” and pointed to our loose parts
  • Benjamin (Age 4): “We have yummy food all the time”
